An exquisite oval enamel plaques depicts a cherub or baby putti holding and pulling at his tiny love bow and arrow. The dark background of this enamel miniature really sets off charming image! Completely hand-crafted you can see the intricately carved sterling scroll work is unbelievable. Work of a master artisan. Most likely a sentimental gift from a gentleman to his lady during the late Georgian or early Victorian period. Enamel painting in combination with the high polished background. The sterling is vibrant. A  keepsake to be cherished for ever more.  The necklace holder could be removed and it could be attached to a bracelet as a charm. An rare heirloom quality treasure indeed. Shaped like a locket. When you hold this fine quality early Porcelain enamel piece in in your hands and caress every romantic curve you will notice all of the incredible intricacies and attentions to details which a camera could never capture properly. A dainty 24" Victorian Sterling Silver chain with no clasp is included to insert through it's original necklace opening. Small with a nice heavy weight. None of the sterling on this design was cast, as, every inch of the sterling is hand forged including the tiny round spherical elements. Quintessentially Late 1700 - early 1800 Victorian, possibly French although, not hallmarked.
