An exquisite enamel perfume flacon, with a gilt chain and finger ring for a chatelaine, either French or Austrian, with superb decoration, circa late 1600s - early 1800s! Portrayed is an exquisitely enameled baby cherub with a double strand of beaded jeweled pearl necklace playing the flute. Just look at all the detailing in shades in the elegant Roses and Leaves. Look closely there is even a Rose and a Bird on the very Top of the bottle. Much attention to detail. Fine and of sevres quality, gilt bronze, exceptionally detailed and wonderfully hand painted using the tiniest of brush strokes of bright and vibrant colors. We have never seen anything like it in 30 years collecting. The beautiful long eye-lashed Cherub is sitting joyfully playing a lovely melody for the gliding Small Blue birds. Tiny floral flower figures are also featured on the front abd back of the bottle. Suggesting a golden garden wall, within a scenic landscape. Such delicate workmanship was very difficult to do in enamel at that time! This is clearly the work of a master. The workmanship on the gilt wash, including on the chain, is also very nicely done. Sometimes used as a vinaigrette, the bottle still has it's original and ADORABLE tiny glass stopper. So cute! Extremely RARE!

Dimensions without chain: around 2 & 1/2 inches tall

Excellent condition with age-appropriate wear. No cracks or tiny dings. The beautiful enamel is perfect and feels silky smooth to the touch. Our breath is taken away every time we view it. The hinge and stopper are in excellent and proper fine working order. A gorgeous piece! Not to be missed!

An original hand-crafted 'work of art' (not a reproduction) that would make a wonderful addition to your finer antique collection. Based on the unique shape and rarity of the subject mater, most fine antique stores would price this beauty at well over ($1200 - $3400+). An Important Georgian Austro-Hungarian Putto Design. Great price!

This wonderful piece... Simply Gorgeous! A Museum Quality Treasure!

CONDITION: Excellent - Absolutely No Chips to the glass, No Cracks, No Repairs! Flask before Emperor Napoleon III, ébéniste de l'Empereur time. Ceramic Enameling. From the Bond Street, London, shop of Charles Parnacott.
