Rare Authentic Late Georgian - Early Victorian Era Earrings!

Offered for sale is a truly gorgeous pair of Antique French Victorian era precious Rose Cut DIAMOND and fine enamel solid 18K gold earrings. Due to their extreme rarity, these elegant earrings dating Circa late 1700s - early 1800s, are Highly prized by collectors today. Gloriously crafted. The scalloped perimeter is reminiscent of flower "petals" and adds to the three-dimensional tiered effect. Intricately detailed, clearly sculptural in form and beautifully styled in fine 18k gold. They appear to be bright yellow gold, however under certain lighting they appear to be rose gold. Guaranteed to be of solid 18K 18CT Gold. Fastening in the front, these luminous sparkling white rose-cut faceted large natural diamond set earrings are typical of the period. Gemstones are surrounded by elegant and exquisite quality workmanship of fine gold. Lovely movement and shaped with buttercup articulated style openwork filigree detailing that adorns the open sides, top and bottom and backs which lets the light to illuminate through to the front. Diamonds are very clear, eye clean and are obviously fine quality, not cloudy. Shiny original high gloss black enamel which is in excellent condition. DIAMONDS: Natural Antique Rose Cut Crystal Clear White Sparkling and Luminous Diamonds which surrounding 18K gold settings are approx. 5MMx 5MM. Style: Dangle, drop, dripping from the ear. Less facets that old mine cut diamonds these rose cut beauties are about .30 - .35 carats each (color H-I; clarity VS - SI) for a total estimated diamond weight of nearly .70 carats for the pair.

METALS: 100% of the earrings are hand-crafted of exquisite quality fine solid 18K, 18ct, 18 carats Yellow Gold (tested). The diamonds are surrounded in elegant fluted floral cup shaped.

DATE ORIGIN: Late 1700s - 1830s. French in origin.

METAL COLOR: The fronts and backs are gleaming in bright 18K gold. Vibrant warm yellow gold with etched/etching intricacies. Stunning gold which is exquisitely hand-crafted as you can see. The rarest and the finest!

HALLMARKS: Solid 18CT. The earrings are hallmarked with a French mark that is an eagle’s head, in use since 1830s, indicating 18 karat gold. Assayed French gold is never lower than 18k. Also has another hallmarked which we can not make out and is too small to photograph clearly. The fluted gold tight bezel-style mountings nestling each diamond and are typical and quintessentially of the Georgian era. Leading us to believe that the earrings may have been hallmarked during the 1830's however, their actual creation may date slightly earlier, as in the late 1700's early 1820's.

RARITY: These earrings uniquely fasten in the front of the earring permitting ease of wear. Larger than other tiny earring styles of this era, however, very comfortable to wear.
