These genuine antique Victorian earrings are very bright. Each marked with a halmarked head for French silver. The pastes are secure and show absolutely no wear. They are gorgeous! DATED CIRCA: A Genuine Antique - Guaranteed to be circa 100+ years or older.

PRECIOUS METAL TYPE: French Sterling Silver

PRECIOUS METAL HALLMARKS:  Animal Head - The hallmark depicted here is a French hallmark that was struck in sterling jewelry or jewelry containing sterling parts. There are many other tiny hallmarks which are to small to photograph.

They are hallmarked with a teeny tiny Baby Boar's head which was only used in Antique "French" Jewelry. Since 1838 the boar's head mark is stamped on articles indicating a minimum fineness of 800/1000 silver. We have tested the earrings and due to their lightness in color we suspect they are nearer to the higher grade of 1000 silver. This type of mark is one of the most prolific on French jewelry.
