Coral gemstone jewelry has a timeless appeal. Thousands of years ago, the named red jewel of the sea was familiar in India to Italy as an elegant talisman with mystical healing powers. There has been coral trade between Naples, Italy, and France, for thousands of years, and a number of the ancient towns were known for exquisite coral work and cameo-making. The 13th century explorer, Marco Polo, noted the use of coral for fashioning idols in Asian temples as it is one of the seven treasures in Buddhist scriptures, and Tibetan lamas use coral for rosaries. Corals have been fashioned in fine jewelry for hundreds of years. Long thought to be a strong talisman to ward off the bad, coral ornaments and inlay have been found in Celtic tombs dating back to the Iron Age.

Gold is a remarkable, precious metal, with an unparalleled combination of physical properties. It's name is dirived from the Old English word for yellow, 'geolu'. As the only metal that forms no oxide film on its surface in air at normal temperatures means that it will never rust or tarnish. Remains vibrant and polished with ease.
