Large French Opaline Egg with Embellished Finial. Elegant alone or coupled with your other fine antique treasures. C. 1850sNICE SIZE: 4" inch x 2 & 1/2" inch beauty.Fine Ormolu mounts. feature a 'S' shaped clasp. The hinge on the back is in perfect shape and the box opens and closes properly and is in wonderful working order. No Chips, No cracks. No repairs. Though it is missing it's original stand, that would have sat it upright, it looks perfectly lovely laying down as you can see in the very bottom photo. Some oxidation throughout but that is to be expected due to it's age. Finely ribbed lips and all parts and mountings are secure. Mid 1800s and a darling piece just in from our France.
